David Riedel

David has extensive expertise in company analysis, valuation, equity research, and business management, honed through diverse international experiences. His time living and working in China and Taiwan during the 1980s, coupled with education and work in Thailand in the 1990s, laid the groundwork for his proficiency in Emerging Markets. With a foundation in Chinese studies and an MBA from Chulalongkorn University, David carved a successful path in equity research at Salomon Smith Barney, impacting both Asian and U.S. markets.

 

In 2003, he established Riedel Research Group, a pioneering independent equity research service specializing in global emerging markets, now recognized as a leader in the field. David is a familiar voice in the financial world, frequently contributing to CNBC, Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and other media outlets. He holds a BA in Chinese Studies and Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA in Finance from the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.
David Riedel is also a noted author, with his book “Finding the Hot Spots: 10 Strategies for Global Investing” (Wiley, 2006) adding to his acclaim.

 

In addition to his research and media engagements, David has played a pivotal role in raising capital and facilitating mergers and acquisitions for companies of every size. His strategic insights and deep understanding of both financial markets and cross-border transactions have been invaluable in guiding companies through complex M&A activities, further solidifying his reputation as a seasoned expert in global finance and investment.
